Dr Casey Sullivan
MBBSBSc FRACGP
Dr Casey grew up locally and attended UNSW before returning home to practice in Tamworth in 2004. With a short hiatus in Mackay QLD , Casey returned to Tamworth with her husband and Practice Manager Rick Sullivan, and her four children to settle in her hometown Tamworth. Dr Casey has special interests in Family Health, Mens, Womens and Childrens Health, Mental Health, Chronic Disease Management, Preventative Health Promotion and Traveller's Health.
Dr Aydin Areta
Dr Aydin Areta is a General Practitioner and Conjoint Senior Lecturer in Clinical Medicine at the University of New England (UNE). Aydin enjoys every aspect of General Practice but his special interests include: Mental Health and Management of Chronic Diseases.
Dr Areta graduated from Azad University, Tehran School of Medicine as MD with “Doctoral Thesis Excellence Award” in 2004. He also studied Philosophy as PhD Candidate in Bioethics at Macquarie University (2009-2012) and also worked as Senior Lecturer in Clinical Medicine at the University of Notre Dame Sydney School of Medicine for 4 years (2011 – 2015).
With over 13 years of experience in various fields of medicine including General practice, Emergency Medicine, Mental Health, Addiction Medicine, Medical Education and Clinical Research, Aydin places great emphasis on the Holistic Care of his patients and their well-being and is a strong advocate for Bio-Psycho-Social model of health.
In his free time, Aydin enjoys studying Philosophy (German idealism, Phenomenology, existentialism and Mystic tradition of Persian poets) and also plays sports (Aydin has black belt in Taekwondo with Dan grade and is trying to revive his forgotten martial arts skills! He also used to play chess professionally and still plays online chess whenever time allows). According to his wife, Aydin is also a gifted cook whenever he can avoid being too creative!
Dr Sarah Yarmand
Dr Sarah Yarmand is a general practitioner with extensive background in medical emergency medicine. Sarah's special interests are men's health, women's health, children's health, chronic disease management and promotion of preventative medicine.
She is a mother of one and lives locally with her small family. In her free time Sarah enjoys Yoga, reading and painting.
Dr Cameron Henderson
My GP Tamworth is very proud to have Dr Cam onboard with us.
Dr Henderson is a recipient of the Order of Australia Medal and said he was humbled and excited to receive the award. He also said the patience of his family - his wife Jenny and children Alex, Anna and Jack - contributed to his success
Dr Henderson previously worked in Barraba and Manilla for the past 38 years, was the director of Barwon Division of a General Practice from 2000 to 2006 and provided health checks at AgQuip between 2000 and 2008.
Dr Henderson is also the adjunct lecturer, Faculty of The Professions, School of Rural Medicine, University of New England and conjoint lecturer, School of Medicine and Public Health, University of Newcastle. We are so pleased to welcome him to the My GP Family

Meekah Maddison
Meekah is a local Pharmacist who will be assisting patients with understanding medications, learning how to use medical devices, and performing health checks in combination with our GPs. My GP Tamworth is dedicated to helping our Tamworth community access as much education and information as possible related to their healthcare . We look forward to a positive and longstanding relationship between Community Pharmacists and General Practice.

Billing Policy
Overview
My GP Tamworth is a private billing practice (with some exceptions outlined below).
Fees and Charges (including phone consults)
Standard Consultation (15 min) $ 99
Long Consultation (up to 30 mins) $139
Extended Consultation (up to 45 mins) $189.00
Appointments booked after 8pm on a weekday and anytime on the weekend incur an additional cost with Standard Consultations being $115 and Long Consultation $155.
There are a number of additional services that may incur additional charges for example if your visit
Involves a procedure of some type. Please ask at reception if you have any concerns.
Bulk Billing and fee discounts
Department of Veteran Affairs – our practice will bill DVA for Gold Card holders , and White Card holders when being treated for applicable illness.
Aged Pensioners – we are unable to bulk bill all pensioners, however, we do offer a discount.
Standard Consultation (15min) $65.00
Long Consultation (up to 30 min) $100.00
Extended Consultation (up to 45 min) $127.00
All Childhood Immunisations are bulk billed provided the child is registered with Medicare.

Welcome to My GP Tamworth. We are a family run medical practice owned and managed by long time locals Casey and Rick Sullivan. We are located at Shop 32-34 Tamworth Square 432-452 Peel st (inside the KMART Plaza near the food court). To make an appointment please come visit us or call our friendly staff on 02 5701 5533.
Communication
Please phone 02 5701 5533 for an appointment. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and GP. At My GP Tamworth we have emergency appointments that are not filled until the day; emergencies will always be given priority and our reception staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforeseen delay. Longer consultation times are available, so please ask our receptionist if you require some extra time. If you or a family member requires an interpreter service, we can organise this for you. Please let us know at the time of the appointment. Walk in appointments are also available from 8.30am.
We are affiliated with 13CURE who are available for home visits on 13 28 73.
Our practice nurse completes home health assessments by appointment.
Electronic Communication
Our practice electronic communication policy for use with email, SMS, internet, and social media will help protect the security of patient information.
Our clinic is open 6 days a week and closed on Sundays and Public Holidays. Our opening hours are:
Monday: 8:30am – 8.00pm
Tuesday: 8:30am – 8:00pm
Wednesday: 8:30am – 8:00pm
Thursday: 8:30am – 8:00pm
Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Saturday 10:00am - 4:00pm

These hours may vary depending on Contract Doctors availability & appointment bookings.
We are now affiliated with 13CURE - the Home Visit Doctor. If you would like a doctor to visit you afterhours, please call 13CURE. 13 CURE will ensure My GP Tamworth are notified of any medical attention you receive keeping all your Doctors up to date with your Medical Care.
Privacy
Your medical record is a confidential document; at My GP Tamworth we keep electronic health records. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.
Accessing your medical records
You have the right to access health information about yourself that we hold in our medical records. Please speak to your doctor or to the reception staff if you would like to avail yourself of this information.
Results of tests and procedures
You are requested to ring the surgery to obtain results of any tests that have been organised for you. If results are abnormal, your doctor will require you to make an appointment to enable these to be discussed with you.
After Hours
For advice and healthcare after hours, phone 1300 130 147. GP Access After Hours provides telephone advice to help you to decide what to do, and if you need to see a GP after hours, you will be directed to the nearest clinic which is situated at Tamworth Hospital ED located in Dean St, North Tamworth 2340.
Patient feedback
Our aim is to continually improve our services. From time to time we will invite patients to complete a questionnaire on how this can be done. These surveys will be confidential and voluntary. If you are unhappy with any aspect of your care, please discuss it with your doctor or the Practice Manager or put your comments in the suggestion box.

Rick grew up in Werris Creek and has acquired a wealth of experience before specialising as a practice manager for My Gp Tamworth. Being a local, Rick understands the health care needs in our region. Kimberley started as a trainee in 2008 with a Tamworth based medical practice; she since has continued working in medical practice giving her 13+ years experience; She has been with our team since opening in 2017 & is excited for many more years to come.
